The mission of the Mute Swan Society is to ensure the well-being of wild Mute Swans in Canada.

We are committed to fact-based decisions about their lives and to dispelling misinformation and myths.  To that end, we monitor and share research and offer public education.

Based on the science and the ethics of compassionate conservation, we challenge portrayals of Mute Swans as invasive, and we work to end lethal actions that result.  We advocate for the swans’ right to live wild lives, which includes having and raising their young. We oppose the killing and hunting of Mute Swans and the destruction of their eggs.

We celebrate their long-standing and rightful presence in our wetlands and waterways, and we are dedicated to their welfare.
